Fetal physiology cardiotocography training, a regional evaluation

چکیده
Cardiotocography (CTG) has its limits in detecting fetal acidosis and intrapartum asphyxia. Our aim was to evaluate a CTG training programme based on physiology the Mediterranean perinatal network. Professionals from 41 maternity units of network were invited participate masterclass March 2019 October 2019. They asked react three practical cases by physiological approach before course (T0), one month after (T1) six seven months (T2). The mean scores compared using mixed model including lapse time evaluation, profession participants level unit as fixed effects. A total 248 professionals 32 finally participated organizational audit. By model, we found significant improvement score at T1 = 6.44/10 T0 4.97/10 (p < 0.0001), obtained T2 6.17/10 0.0001). not significantly different 0.143). showed professionals’ interpretation short term stable results long term. Continuing medical education could help maintain improve knowledge ensure neonatal safety.

Cardiotocography only versus cardiotocography plus ST analysis of fetal electrocardiogram for intrapartum fetal monitoring: a Swedish randomised controlled trial.
BACKGROUND Previous studies indicate that analysis of the ST waveform of the fetal electrocardiogram provides information on the fetal response to hypoxia. We did a multicentre randomised controlled trial to test the hypothesis that intrapartum monitoring with cardiotocography combined with automatic ST-waveform analysis results in an improved perinatal outcome compared with cardiotocography al...
متن کاملA Comparative Study on Fetal Heart Rates Estimated from Fetal Phonography and Cardiotocography
The aim of this study is to investigate that fetal heart rates (fHR) extracted from fetal phonocardiography (fPCG) could convey similar information of fHR from cardiotocography (CTG). Four-channel fPCG sensors made of low cost (<$1) ceramic piezo vibration sensor within 3D-printed casings were used to collect abdominal phonogram signals from 20 pregnant mothers (>34 weeks of gestation). A novel...
متن کاملContinuous cardiotocography (CTG) as a form of electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) for fetal assessment during labour.
BACKGROUND Cardiotocography (CTG) records changes in the fetal heart rate and their temporal relationship to uterine contractions. The aim is to identify babies who may be short of oxygen (hypoxic) to guide additional assessments of fetal wellbeing, or determine if the baby needs to be delivered by caesarean section or instrumental vaginal birth. This is an update of a review previously publish...
متن کاملCardiotocography plus ST analysis of fetal electrocardiogram compared with cardiotocography only for intrapartum monitoring: a randomized controlled trial.
OBJECTIVE To estimate the effectiveness of intrapartum fetal monitoring by cardiotocography plus ST analysis using a strict protocol for performance of fetal blood sampling. METHODS We performed a multicenter randomized trial among laboring women with a high-risk singleton pregnancy in cephalic presentation beyond 36 weeks of gestation. Participants were assigned to monitoring by cardiotocogr...
متن کامل[Computerized cardiotocography analysis of fetal heart response to acoustic stimulation].
PURPOSE to study the effect of acoustic stimulation in the fetal cardiac response, according to parameters from computerized cardiotocography in low risk pregnancies. METHODS twenty low risk pregnant women were included in the study, according to the following criteria: age over 18; single gestation, living fetus; gestational age between 36 and 40 weeks; amniotic liquid index over 8.0 cm and ...
